Delete Your Account

Overview

This page explains how to delete your channl.tv account and the personal data associated with it. You can request deletion at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

channl.tv operates a Bring Your Own Subscription model: deleting your channl.tv account removes the data we hold about you, but it does not affect any third-party IPTV provider account you brought to the Service. You will need to cancel those separately with the relevant provider.

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is from the channl.tv app on any platform:

  • Open channl.tv and sign in if you are not already signed in.
  • Go to Account.
  • Under Profile, choose Delete account, type DELETE to confirm, and submit.

Your account and all associated cloud data are removed straight away, and you are signed out on every device.

Delete from the website

If you would rather use a browser, you can delete your account from your online account settings:

  • Sign in at channl.tv/login.
  • Open Settings.
  • In the Danger zone, choose Delete account and confirm.

Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, you can request account and data deletion by email. This route exists so that anyone can delete their data without needing access to the app.

  • Email [email protected] from the email address registered to your account, with the subject Account deletion request.
  • Tell us the email address on the account so we can locate it. We may ask you to verify ownership of that address before we proceed, to protect against unauthorised deletion.

We action verified requests promptly and confirm by email once your account has been removed.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove the data we hold for you, including:

  • Your account profile (email address and display name)
  • Your encrypted IPTV and media source credentials (Xtream Codes, Stalker/MAG, M3U, Jellyfin/Emby)
  • Cloud-synced favourites, channel groups and settings
  • Watch history and resume positions
  • EPG reminders and notification preferences
  • Registered devices and active sessions

Local data stored on your own device (the app's on-device SQLite cache) is cleared when you uninstall the app.

What we may retain, and for how long

After your account is deleted, all associated personal data, cloud-sync data and encrypted credentials are permanently deleted within 30 days. We may retain a limited amount of information for longer where the law requires it — for example, billing and transaction records needed to meet tax and accounting obligations. Payment details themselves are held by Stripe and are never stored by us. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics that cannot identify you may be kept for service improvement.
